Three weeks ago, a message board from an adoption agency gave information about a little guy with some problems. Born too early, small for gestational age, etc. They were needing a family. As I usually do, I prayed for this little one to find his family, the best, that was perfect for him.
On Friday, another notice was sent:
We are still seeking a family for full African American baby boy. He was born on July, 18 2010 at 34 weeks gestation, but was small for gestational age. He was 2 lbs. 13.7 ounces and 16 inches long at birth. Apgars were 6 and 8. Baby…now has a colostomy.
The message went on. This baby sounds so much like our Mazie. Every child should have a family. Where was his family? As I looked and pointed, of course, those stinking four fingers kept pointing back at me.
I called today concerning him. This is the agency that we used to adopt Faith and conducted the homestudy for Mazie. They have absolutely NO interested families among the few hundred they keep on their books. Although they came down on the costs, it still will require $11,000 for the placement, not including lawyer fees.
What to do? God you know our finances, you know we would do it, but how do we get the money? Where is the cattle on a thousand hills? Is this something you want us to do? Do you want us to step out on faith and do this? How can I handle a tenth child? Where is his family? What is the next step? Are we his family? God help us know.
