The old Enemy FEAR…

The Old Enemy… FEAR

Just as soon as we get comfortable…Oh yeah, a victory!! Agency wants to do this again, our local director is sending out a memo that we will do cradle care with full support, she says there is a situation maybe soon… we anticipate it…

Then we get an email: this little guy has multiple medical problems and probable, unconfirmed … cmv “cytomegalovirus” a very scary virus that is contagious.  The hospital is treating as if he were positive, he has many signs that it is so. They are looking for a permanent family for him, but we may get a call next week if they don’t have a home that quickly…

I recognized the symptoms, can’t breathe, cramping in the midsection, mind over running thoughts…DANGEROUS, how can we do this and put our other children at risk…then this verse slammed into my brain:

Jesus replied, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62

Can’t get much more plain than that. God called us to this, he opened the door…I cannot look back, only figure out how to deal with this new threat…gloves, masks, putting up a divider to keep the baby behind, 10% bleach solutions. Yes, we can do this…yes we can…

How many times has fear won? More times than I can count…NOT this time, not THIS time. It is time for me to grow up.
