Looking for that spark

After spending five days in West Penn with no real clear explanation for the fever…a total of five units of blood, every antibiotic that could be used, every little place and orifice swabbed and all results coming back negative…Oxygen on continuously … heart rate elevated… the diagnosis was: systemic inflammatory response syndrome…In other words…something caused his body to react…

At this point he had been off of all of his chemotherapy treatments for two weeks + and he began to worry about his cancer growing… He had bloodwork this morning, his IGG numbers which had  been high 8500+ had been reduced to 6700, disappointingly  had grown back to 6900…it could have been worse, was what the doctor said…it could have been worse…

The next plan began today; now all of his chemotherapy will happen the same day, once a week…shots pills and everything(Velcade, Dex, and Cytoxin).  The rest of the week it is just all of his maintenance drugs: ( Acyclovir, Bactrim, Arixtra, Magnesium, …and yeah) … Hopefully this new plan will result in better results and he will respond well.

As for the rest? School is out!! One, who is nameless, will need to take English make up class this summer… lots of therapy hours for Mazie and Benjamin, camp coming very soon for some of the kids…and a Day at a Time…

For a while there it was scary, Ray had lost his light in his eyes… I just needed to see that spark… I saw a glimpse of it yesterday, and a bit today so I am fine,  You never know how much you miss something until it is gone.

  1. this is robin Ray’s sister. If you would like to donate to the family please go to the link above. Prayers, peace offerings, and giving blood are also ways to help. Thank you and God bless.
    Sincerely,
    Robin

  2. Praying for both of you and mostly for God given wisdom for the doctors.
